KLISBio to participate at 2023 FESSH-EFSHT Combined Congress
KLISBio, a regenerative medicine firm utilizing silk-based technology, will exhibit at the 2023 FESSH-EFSHT Combined Congress (May 10-13, 2023 in Rimini, Italy). Company representatives Antonio Alessandrino (CTO and Founder) and Gabriella Francavilla (Global Marketing Manager) will attend to strengthen partnerships and engage with medical professionals.
The company's lead product, SILKBridge, represents an absorbable silk fibroin device designed for repairing peripheral nerves. Research from Prof. Maurizio Calcagni at University Hospital Zurich will be displayed as an e-poster, presenting long-term outcomes from a digital nerve reconstruction study using the hybrid silk device.
SILKBridge's multilayered architecture features electrospun inner and outer layers that decompose quickly while promoting cellular adhesion, mimicking natural extracellular matrix properties. The intermediate braided textile layer provides structural integrity and mechanical strength throughout the healing phase.
Alessandrino stated: "The long-term follow-up of the premarket, monocentre first-in-human pilot study on SILKBridge has showed promising functional and patient satisfaction results."
The company holds patents covering silk fibroin formulations, composite materials, and nanofiber structures. Leadership includes CEO Grecchi, CSO Giuliano Freddi, and Board Chairman Rodrigo Bianchi, who brings extensive global healthcare expertise.
