KLISBio to present SILKBridge for peripheral nerve repair and its innovative silk-based tissue-engineered technology platform at 2022 Bio€quity Europe
KLISBio, a regenerative medicine company utilizing silk-based technology, announced its participation in 2022 Bio€quity Europe, scheduled for May 16-18 in Milan. Antonio Alessandrino, the company's CTO and Founder, will present on Wednesday, May 18 at 9:30 am CEST.
The company showcased SILKBridge, its initial product candidate for peripheral nerve repair. This absorbable medical device contains Bombyx mori silk fibroin and supports surgical repair of peripheral nerve gaps to enable regeneration. The technology combines traditional silk production knowledge with advanced biomedical techniques, creating highly purified material without chemical cross-linking.
Alessandrino stated that KLISBio's ambition is to offer the market a silk-based multidisciplinary technology platform targeting multiple clinical applications including vascular diseases, bone defects, and tendon injuries.
The leadership team includes Gabriele Grecchi as CEO, Antonio Alessandrino as President and CTO, and Giuliano Freddi as Chief Scientific Officer. Rodrigo Bianchi recently joined as Board Chairman, bringing three decades of healthcare experience.
KLISBio operates from Milan with several developmental assets including vascular grafts, bone substitutes, and rotator cuff repair solutions, all based on natural silk fibroin technology.
