KLISBio to participate at 78TH ANNUAL MEETING OF THE ASSH

KLISBio, a regenerative medicine company utilizing silk-based technology, will attend the 78th Annual Meeting of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand (ASSH) from October 5-7, 2023 in Toronto. The company's Global Marketing Manager, Gabriella Francavilla, will represent the organization to foster physician relationships and implement an Early Adopters Engagement Plan targeting peripheral nerve repair surgeons.

The company will showcase SILKBridge Nerve Guide, an absorbable medical device composed of silk fibroin designed for surgical repair of peripheral nerve injuries. This product supports axonal regeneration across nerve defects and remains pending FDA clearance.

SILKBridge features a patented three-layered architecture combining electrospun and textile components. The inner and outer electrospun layers are specifically designed to promote cell adhesion and resorb faster. The intermediate textile layer provides mechanical strength while resorbing more gradually, and the overall structure mimics the extracellular matrix at the nanoscale level.

The Milan-based company holds multiple patents in silk fibroin technology and is led by experienced MedTech executives. KLISBio is developing several additional assets including vascular grafts, bone graft substitutes, and rotator cuff repair solutions, supported by funding from the European Union's European Innovation Council.
