KLISBio to participate at 2023 AAHS, ASPN & ASRM Annual Meeting
KLISBio, a regenerative medicine company utilizing silk-based technology, announced its participation in the 2023 AAHS, ASPN & ASRM Annual Meeting held January 17-22 in Miami. The company's Global Marketing Manager, Gabriella Francavilla, planned to engage physicians and potential partners to advance their Early Adopters Engagement Plan focused on peripheral nerve repair specialists.
The company's lead product candidate is SILKBridge Nerve Guide, an absorbable medical device designed for peripheral nerve repair using silk fibroin. Clinical study results, conducted by Professor Maurizio Calcagni at University Hospital Zurich, were previously presented at international surgical conferences in London and Switzerland.
SILKBridge Nerve Guide combines electrospun silk with textile layers to balance biomechanical strength and biological properties. The device features a multilayered silk-based structure developed to confer ideal porosity and compression resistance while supporting nerve regeneration throughout the healing process.
Francavilla noted that the company had been collaborating with key opinion leaders to design research activities and gather data to attract peripheral nerve surgeons' interest, with plans to expand relationships with early adopters before implementing a complete sales strategy.
The device remains in development stages and has not received FDA clearance. KLISBio's pipeline includes additional assets such as vascular grafts, bone graft substitutes, and rotator cuff repair solutions.
