KLISBio to unveil cutting-edge silk-based technology platform at 2022 Digital RESI Conference
KLISBio, a regenerative medicine company utilizing silk-based technology, announced its participation in the 2022 Digital RESI Conference, held virtually March 22-24, 2022. CEO and co-founder Gabriele Grecchi represented the organization, seeking connections with investors and strategic partners.
The company's lead product candidate is SILKBridge, an absorbable medical device composed of Bombyx mori silk fibroin. This device targets peripheral nerve repair by supporting regeneration across nerve discontinuities. Market availability in the United States is projected for 2023.
SILKBridge employs highly purified silk fibroin without chemical cross-linking, combining traditional knowledge with modern biomedical technology. Grecchi noted: "KLISBio is driven by the desire to innovate and redesign therapeutic approaches to help improve people's sensory perception and daily functional activities."
The leadership team comprises international MedTech experts, including Antonio Alessandrino (President & CTO), Giuliano Freddi (Chief Scientific Officer), and Jason Schense (Chief Business Officer/COO). Rodrigo Bianchi serves as Chairman, bringing over thirty years of healthcare experience.
The company holds patents in silk fibroin formulations and nanofiber technology. Beyond peripheral nerve repair, KLISBio develops vascular grafts, bone substitutes, and rotator cuff repair solutions, funded by the European Union's Innovation Council initiative.
